Beginner method

Layer by layer. You will use the same handful of algorithms on every scramble. If a letter is unfamiliar, practice notation first.

Step 01

White cross

Four white edges around the white center, each matching the center on its side.

White center on top. Green in front matches this app.

Ignore corners for now — an edge has two colors, a corner has three.

Put a white edge on the bottom, turn the bottom until its side color matches that side’s center, then turn that side twice (F2, R2, L2, or B2) so white meets the white center.

When all four arms are in, the white face should look like a plus, and each side of the plus should continue the same color as the center below it. If an edge is on top but the side color is wrong, take it out and insert it again.
